Sweet, tangy and fiery – these marinated chicken thighs are infused with tropical heat from The Flaming Imp’s Golden Kiwi & Yellow Habanero Sauce. Perfect for grilling, roasting or barbecuing.
🔥 Ingredients (Serves 4)
800g bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (approx. 6–8 thighs)
3 tbsp Golden Kiwi & Yellow Habanero Sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey (optional – for extra caramelisation)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
🍋 Instructions
Make the marinade:In a bowl, whisk together the Golden Kiwi & Habanero Sauce, olive oil, honey, soy, sauce, garlic, ginger, lime zest, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
Marinate the chicken:Place the chicken thighs in a large zip-lock bag or a dish. Pour over the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Cook the chicken:
Oven method: Preheat to 200°C (fan 180°C). Arrange thighs skin-side up on a lined baking tray and roast for 35–40 minutes, or until golden and juices run clear.
BBQ method: Grill over medium heat for 6–8 minutes per side, basting with extra marinade if desired.
Rest & serve:Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped coriander and lime wedges if desired.

💡 Tips:
Add a splash more sauce just before serving for an extra kick.
This marinade also works great with tofu or halloumi for a vegetarian twist.
